Small Business Season: Celebrate the Heart of Hooksett and the Tri-Town Area

What does nearly every feel-good holiday movie have in common? A small business owner, of course! There’s something magical about following your dreams and being part of a community. Think back to your most cherished holiday memories—they probably involve a cozy café, a beautifully decorated shop, a local holiday fair, or that one restaurant where you gather with loved ones every season.

These treasured places, and the traditions you build there, are what make the holidays special. And that spirit is exactly what Small Business Season is all about!

From November 1st to December 31st, we’re celebrating the heart and soul of our community—our small businesses. These entrepreneurs pour their passion into their shops, restaurants, and services, creating unique experiences that make Hooksett vibrant. Small Business Season isn’t just about shopping; it’s about making a choice to support the dreams and livelihoods of our friends and neighbors. Every dollar spent at a small business has a ripple effect, helping to create jobs, boost our local economy, and foster community connections.

The Story Behind Small Business Season

In 2008, a spark of a vision ignited from Chamber Community Professionals: to strengthen local communities and support small businesses, especially during the holiday season. For years, this idea grew quietly, until 2020, when the global pandemic brought a heightened awareness to the challenges faced by small businesses. People everywhere were reminded of the essential role these businesses play in their communities.

In response, Small Business Season launched in 2020, with a mission to help chambers of commerce enhance their local business landscapes and unite communities around a common cause. The campaign quickly gained traction, with people rallying to support their local stores, restaurants, and service providers. Since then, Small Business Season has continued to shine a spotlight on the importance of spending locally—a message that resonates deeply even now, as we head into the 2024 season.
